I was turned with deal that i was going to go back home get emancipated and be back with my girlfriend. But this situation got worse i have to stay in this home until i am 18 my mother requested and i was wondering could i do an emancipation in this home without being in NY and with out my parents consent. See my mother has damaged my life verbally and emotionally. If i go with my dad well he will hurt me physically and emotionally. Since you are living in a home in Florida, your residence is in Florida. You can petition a court in Florida for your emancipation. If the court grants your petition, your parents would no longer have any responsibility or liability for you. It is a serious move, but perhaps the right one for you based on your situation.

Re: teenage runaway

If the home is in Florida, your residence is in Florida. Consequently, you can petition the court for emancipation (the minimum age is 16). Just keep in mind that if you are successful, your parents will no longer have the obligation to support you financially or otherwise.
