Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

My landlord has threatened to shut off my electric which is in his name, me and my 10 year old daughter are both on nebulizers, they are not battery powered. What shoule I do if this happens?

Landlord is apparently ignorant of the law. First, inform him in writing about your medical conditions. If he does not respond or does turn off the electricity, you should contact the Police and file a report. Often police will contact Landlord and advise him against such illegal behavior. If he does turn off the electricity you will have to leave because of the medical needs.

This is constructive eviction and you may be entitled to 3 months rent, costs related to this happenance, fees and costs.

Your landlord can not do this. He must file an eviction notice to you. As Mr. Brien has stated, you can sue for constructive eviction.
