Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Seller changed their minds
Two weeks before our closing the seller called to tell us they no longer want to sell their home. How can they get away with this? We have a signed contract. We have paid for an application fee and appraisal plus deposit on the home. There is no broker. We wrote a letter to them to tell them we intend to go through with the sale. How can we force them to sell without spending more money?

Read your contract. You may have to bring a legal action to compel a sale or for $ damages.

In Florida, and according to the terms of the contract, you may be bound by an arbitration clause. Otherwise, you will need to hire an attorney and sue for specific performance.
