Is a will drawn up 20 years ago in Minnesota valid in FL today? We had wills drawn up in MN 20 years ago. Are the wills still valid?

The issue turns not on how long ago the will was executed but, rather, whether it was executed with all the formalities required of wills that are to be probated in Florida.

They are as valid today as they were 20 years ago. Assuming they were executed with the proper formalities, they should be fine. If done in a law office, they should have been done correctly. If not, you certainly ought to have them reviewed by an attorney.

If validly executed in MN, FL will accept. Time is irrelevant. However, given the time you may want to review the wills to see if they need to be updated. I would stray away from attorneys advising to update your will without first reviewing the one you have. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
