Florida Stat. 440.205 says that an employer may not discharge, threaten to discharge, intimidate or coerce and employee who tries to file a valid workers' compensation claim. The remedy for this type of action against an employee is through a suit in circuit court, not a workers' compensation claim. And likely, the employer will not have any insurance to cover this type of suit. You can bring this information to the attention of the employer or you can do nothing. Your choice.
