Re: workers compensation

Under the current standard, it is $.44 per mile. It changes every year so if you are sending in mileage from previous years (I have lots of clients who come to me with years worth of mileage), the rate changes based upon the year. Also, my best advice is to use a system like MapQuest to get the correct mileage. Don't estimate. Adjusters look at mileage carefully to see if people exagerate and that can very negatively hurt your claim. Finally, if you have not done mileage for a while, ask each treating physician or physical therapist for a billing print out which will show exactly what day you had an appointment. You are also allowed to claim mileage for going to pick up prescriptions at the pharmacy. I'm available for any further questions. Jane-Robin Wender, Esquire, 561.275.5757.
