Legal Question in Business Law in Georgia

Work done on my house

we had an insurance claim for our roof and it was approved. we hired a roofer how did the work to our satisfaction and was paid in full. 3 months later we recieved a letter from the company the roofer used for the dumpster saying the roofer did not pay him and now we are liable for the amount. We never called them or even know who they are. we paid the roofer for the full job. are we liable to pay for the dumpster? should I ignore the letter?

Re: Work done on my house

You are not legally responsible to pay the subcontractor, but there is a good chance that they will file a lien on your house if they are not paid (subject to some strict rules regarding property liens).
