Legal Question in Family Law in Georgia

adultery

I am currently going through a divorce. The papers have been signed but not filed. My soon to be ex has been sleeping with someone. Is that considered adultery in GA? What does this mean for our children?

Re: adultery

Adultery that CAUSES the separation can be a grounds for divorce. Adultery discovered afterthe separation is not. As for whether the information has any other consequences in your specific fact pattern, you should ask your lawyer.

Re: adultery

You should consult with your attorney. It may be (but maybe not) that the person he/she is sleeping with is someone he/she was sleeping with while you were together.
