Legal Question in Employment Law in Georgia

Company Nurse

I recently had surgery, my company nurse has stated that she will not allow me to return to work before a certain date even if my doctor gives me a full release to return. Does she have this right?

Re: Company Nurse

Your question is probably more accurately stated as "Does the company have the right." Presumably, she has the authority from the company's management. Beyond that, you provided no facts about the situation (such as their reasons, your job, the waiting time, your medical issue, etc.), so I'll merely add that most employment is "at will," and employees can be terminated for any or no reason (except for very limited discriminatory reasons). There are laws allowing unpaid medical leave, but that is not what you want and not what they are denying.
