Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Life Insurance

I am having a serious problem with a company not paying an accidental death claim (ruled so on DeathCert) The co. wants pharmacy records and pharm wont release unless I am named executioner of estate, there is no estate only this policy. How can I get pharmacy to release records without having to go through an atty. All drs are cooperating. It was an accidental overdose on prescriptions. Mom died in 11-06 and they are still dragging feet. Any suggestions? Also, am I liable for any debt left from my mom. Will I have to pay from this policy if rewarded?

Re: Life Insurance

Have a local attorney carefully flyspeck your policy to see if there is any such requirement that you be appointed executor. Usually, life insurance, being a contract, is paid quickly upon proof of the death of the insured and proof of the identity of the beneficiary. I don't see how pharmacy records have anything to do with it.
