Legal Question in Family Law in Hawaii

Can child support be raised if divorced father starts 2nd family?

My boyfriend is concerned that his ex-wife may seek a raise in child support for their daughter if she becomes aware of our one year old son. (they had a bitter divorce, hence the negative attitude twords eachother) If and when the courts become aware that he's now contributing to a second child, would they entertain the request to raise the child support, even if a raise is not due? Thank you so much for your consideration.

In Florida, child support is driven by income, not expenditures. Certainly your child is not likely increasing his father's income. No action would be appropriate in these circumstances.

I also suggest you consider a proper legal relationship to foster stability and other benefits in your child's life.
