Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

collecting judgement

I won a judgement against my daughter for $26,000. How do I go about collecting this once I find out her place of employment ? I cannot afford another attorney to do this for me. Its been over two years and I havent collected a dime yet.

Re: collecting judgement

congratulations...you have learned everything we learned in law school.

it is easy to get a judgment...much harder to collect it.

If you don't want to hire a lawyer, go to your local law library (Waukegan) Check out 735ILCS 5/1001 et seq. its all there.

Or, if this is really important to you(does not seem like it) hire an attorney to do it for you. (better to collect 1/2 a loaf than none at all)
