Legal Question in Criminal Law in Illinois

an indictment

my fiance was arrested a couple of weeks ago. the first time he went to court they gave him a continuance because there were no witnesses the second time was the same and the judge stated that he would be let go if they didn't show up on the third court date which was one week away. this third time no one showed up again. but the state indicted him with no witnesses and no evidence is this legal.

The State presented their case to the Grand Jury, which is allowed under Illinois law. Since this is a felony, please call me for a free consultation.

The witnesses and the evidence were presented before the Grand Jury, which found probable cause.
