submit adoption papers in illinois

do i need to see a lawyer if i have a father willing to give up custody and my new husband wanting to adopt him. What kind of forms do i need to fill out?

It is more than simple forms to be filled out. It requires court action to terminate the natural father's parental rights and duties and court action to have your husband assume the legal rights and responsibilities of fatherhood. There are statutory procedures for both that must be followed.
