Legal Question in Employment Law in Illinois

False Accusations & Harrassment

I am writing this actually for my Mother. My Mom is a R.N. and a large hospital and has been there for 30+ years... My Dad was admitted in a hospital and against medical advice checked himself out. At the apprx time he checked himself out a Dr pulling into the lot was carjacked. Supposedly the Dr stated that suspect was approx 24yrs old, nowhere near my Dad's 61yr old self. Security put posters up all over the hosp ''Have you seen this carjacker?'' So when he went to re-check himself back in, he was promptly arrested and put in a line-up. It was found not be him, but the posters where never taken down nor was an apology or retraction issued. He was simply told never to darken the doorway of that particular hosp again. My Mom is now followed by security anytime she leaves the floor. When she goes out to the ''butt'' area for a cig break, there is always security either out there when she is or seconds thereafter. This has only been taking place since the accusations of my Dad.

Do you think he has a case or her for workplace harrassment?? She is very concerned that they are looking for the miniscle reason to fire her. What do you think??

I think your father has a better case for defamation.
