Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Illinois

I received the wrong keys at closing. Tried to contact the seller and realtor re: not being able to get in, but neither would take our calls. We ended up hiring a locksmith so we could get into our new place and asked the seller to reimburse us for the locksmith cost. He's refused. Who is responsible? The seller failed to deliver possession of the property.

Did you have a lawyer for the closing? How much are we talking about? You will spend more for a lawyer or lawsuit than it may be worth. Sometimes things happen..... but if you had an attorney who is willing to write at least one letter to get things straight and/or file a complaint with the broker's office or licensing agency.
