Demand draft

I want to deposit a demand Draft into my account but I lost it but have a xerox copy of the same?

Inform the issuer to stop payment and get a new one issued.

Xerox copy cannot be utilised for collection. The payee of a lost demand draft can apply for a duplicate draft from the issuing bank by giving indemnity and proof of loss.

Immediately ask the issuer for stop payment and then to issue a duplicate one.

No that xerox copy is not sufficient, ask your issuer to go immediately for stop payment and then get a new one issued in your favor.

u can enquire the bank and get it reissued by the person who issued it first. tell the bank to not to make any payment of that draft as u are the owner
