ticket

i got a ticket for driving while suspended.this is my second offense.i already served my 90 day suspension which made me eligible to reinstate.nowhere on my paper from the bmv in indianapolis does it say that i am suspended until i reinstate therefore i feel that the ticket is invalid because it wasn't written correctly.an attorney told me this a while back also but i am asking you, what do you think?

Re: ticket

Go to the BMV and find out why you are still suspended. If it's just the fact you owe a reinstatement fee, PAY IT! then go to the BMV and get a copy of your drivers license. THEN... go to the court preferably within the next week (or before your court date) and present your current license to the prosecutor and explain that you thought you were reinstated however you didn't realize you hadn't been. You since went to the BMV and corrected the problem. Sometimes they will dismiss it since you have become current. Not always, but sometimes.
