Legal Question in Family Law in Iowa

I am wondering about a custody rights. In Iowa males are not given away rights as a father unless it's in the divorce decree or have a court order. My boyfriend is a father that wants to be there but his ex-girlfriend uses their daughter as a pawn just because she may be in a bad mood that day. I lawyer here costs $1500 to start and more if she fights and already know she will because she like that. I was wondering if there are any lawyers that would do pro bono work? I'm the only one working while he is in college. I have a daughter, his daughter, and are son so we do not have a lot of money but we would like to have more family time with her. Can you help?

You are going to need the services of a family law attorney to assist you with this. If you do not have the money to pay for one I suggest you contact your county bar association, they may have someone who will take a pro bono case.
