Legal Question in Workers Comp in Kansas

Temporary work reassingment and travel without compensation

My husband, who works for a utility company, was told by his supervisors that he has a six-week temporary reassignment. The new assignment is 45 miles from his place of employment where he has worked for 20 years. He asked his supervisors if he would be provided a company vehicle, driving time, or mileage compensation. The answer was ''no'' to all. I could understand if this were a permanent transfer, but this reassignment is only a winter-season job.

Good paying jobs are scarce, but this change will decrease his net pay as well as our family time. Do we have any legal options? Thank you in advance for your response.

This response does not create an attorney client relationship nor should it be considered legal advice.

Unfortunately your question was delivered to me under the category of a workers compensation question. Your question deals with a category more in the nature of a general employment law question. I do not practice in that area. Please recontact the source that referred your question to me. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. Jim Wright.
