Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Appeal Process

I lost my custody battle for my daughter recently. My lawyer put in a motion to reconsider and I also lost that. The judge stated straight out that I was the better fit parent and he is just basing his decision on the social workers decision. The social worker only actually met with myself and my new wife for 20 min. She is on the other hand friends with my ex-wife. Also we are going through this whole court process in a small little town in Kansas where my ex's brother is the assistant district attorney and her new husband is a police officer. We seem to think we are getting railroaded a little and want to know if there is anything that can be done about it. Our lawyer seeems to think she has done all she can and we feel that there are some corruptions going on that no one is seeing. We are trying to fight this custody battle from Wisconsin where we live and everything is happening in Kansas. We just want to know if we should try for an appeal or is there something else that might be able to be done. Thanks!
