Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

I have a 16 year old daughter that is pregnant by an 18 year old boy. Do I have the right to keep him away from her if I believe he is intimidating her based on her change in demeanor and interaction with myself. Who has legal resposibility for the baby after it is born next month?

You have the right to keep him away because your daughter is a minor. The baby will "presumed" to be in the joint legal custody of the biological mother and father when born, but if your daughter is not responsible, you can seek the assistance of the Cabinet or petition the court for guardianship and/or custody of the baby.

Also, if your daughter was under 16 when she became pregnant, you may have the right to press criminal charges against the father for statutory rape. You could consult with the county attorney in your county regarding this option if you want to pursue it.
