Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Louisiana

My landlord is selling the house we signed a 3 year lease on last October. She has become upset now that I'm holding her to our agreed upon terms by not letting her rent the loft apartment above the house. She has now dropped the price of the house $100k and is aggressively trying to sell it. The realtor texted me saying next Sunday they will be having an open house to the public and we needed to have the house show ready. Is it legal to have a 5 hour open house while tenents are still living there? Showings with a realtor is one thing but allowing the public to just freely walk through all of our stuff is different. I am in Louisiana

Probably not. I agree that there is a difference in showing a house and having a five hour open house. No, I don't think that is reasonable. Of course, your bigger problem is that any new owner won't have to honor your lease UNLESS your lease is recorded. If I were you and I wanted to stay there under the terms of the lease, I would record my lease.
