Legal Question in Social Security Law in Louisiana

Too late?

i was injured 1994. on work comp til 1998, worked part time 8 mo. had to stop and had back surgery for disk L 4/5,etc. settled with w.c. before this. have not worked since then. i received from s.s. that i was not eligible for disability benefits now b/c it was too late to file. can something be done for me to file. something about credits?

I don't understand that you were told it was "too late to file." You may have started the procedure and then failed to timely ask for a review of the original decision or failed to timely ask for an appeal or for it to be assigned to an Administrative Law Judge for hearing. At the very least you should be able to begin the process all over again by making an initial claim for disability benefits. This answer is based solely on the facts presented in the question.
