Legal Question in DUI Law in Maryland

Underage Drinking

This is not really about drinking and driving but I wasn't sure where else to put it.

My little brother is 18 and I'm 21. If my mother is out of town and he is drinking in the house, can I be held responsible? About 5 of his friends, give or take, come over on the weekends sometimes and socially drink. They don't get crazy and they don't do drugs or anything so maybe I'm being paranoid. But I am breastfeeding a 2 month old right now and I can't really be separated from her, even for a few hours, so I want to be on the safe side. I don't know how I would keep them from drinking at my house anyway though. Any advice?

Re: Underage Drinking

You can't be held responsible unless it can be shown that you provided the alcohol. Go to my website jasoncleckner.com and click on the Md Laws link to see Md Criminal Code Seection 10-117 et. seq.
