Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Maryland

Is this Sexual Harrasment?

A couple of months ago my former boss called me into his office and asked me out to lunch. Then he began to make coments to me like ''I can't believe I'm doing this, I'm married'' and then he wrote me a poem that completely crossed the line. It made me feel very uncomfortable and it had some sexual references in it. He told me that he bought me things and that always thought about me. And every time he called me into his office we never talked about work he always brought up his obsession with me and I finally said something to the president of the company and was finally moved to a different department. My question to you is, Although he never came out and asked for sex or touched me is this still considered sexual harrasment?

Re: Is this Sexual Harrasment?

First, make sure that if someone is making you uncomfortable, that you tell them so and ask them to stop. If you believe that you were sexually harassed, you should consult your employee handbook and/or any other materials your employer has given to you. If they have identified a procedure for reporting harassement, you should follow the procedure and should document such by doing so in writing, by keeping copies for yourself, and by sending your complaint by a form of verified mail in addition to any other form of delivery (i.e. even if you deliver it by hand, you should also send it by certified mail and regular mail to the person identified to receive such complaints). If there is no written policy and/or procedure, then notify your supervisor, or the next level of management.
