My boyfriend has been charged for domestic violence against his son. he grabbed his neck, son was not hurt. could he go to jail for this. It is his first domesatic charge?

If the son a young child, the charge becomes more serious. Still, with no criminal record, jail is avoidable if the case is handled well. What court is the case in?

The statute allows for up to 2.5 years in the House of Correction for Assault & Battery. However, with a good criminal defense attorney, he should be able to stay out of jail.
