Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Massachusetts

Fired from job 6 days after disclosing LESBIAN

On 1/17/02 I was fired from my part-time via the phone while at my full-time job.I was told ''we will no longer be needing your services''.On 1/11/02 I shared with co-workers, my sexual preference.I worked two futher shifts, one on 1/12/02 and the other 1/16/02. At a meeting 1/18/02 regarding my termination.I learned that their concern for my employment came from 2 incidents.one occuring on 1/12/02 and the other 1/16/02.Prior to this there were No concerns about my employment.i have no verbal nor written warnings regarding my job performance. the 2 incidents in reference turned out to be (1) not even regarding me at all and (2) a mistake made by me regarding when to call a manager.Information i would have learned had I been through their madadory 40 hour training which is required by policy for each new hire. I have not ben through this training, but other staff hired after me have been.Iam currently unemlpoyeed without a reasonable explanation. After themeeting, I was restored to ''hired'' but have no scheduled hours until I hear back from them.I don't even know what i am waiting to hear back on??????I feel I have been discriminated against based on sexual orientation. My question: ''What is the procedure for pursuing this legally?''

All discrimination claims in Massachusetts must first be filed with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination within 6 months of the act of discrimination. You do not necessarily need an attorney to do this, but I recommend you at least consult with an employment attorney prior to filing your complaint.
