Tough love

I've got an 18 year old high school senior who voluntarily, has gone to live with his other very permissive parent. I told my son, no more financial support from me until he starts behaving in a more civil and respecful manner. My ex is threatening to sue me to continue child support. Is this possible?

Child support cannot be used as a leverage. The obligation continues until the underlying order says it is over, or until the court orders its end.
