Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Massachusetts

I purchased a STAPLES blank DVD and recorded a VIDEO of me presenting some basic information on ELECTRONICS .I plan to sell the DVD and I want to know if there is any legal reason not to?

The devil would be in the details on this question, but based on the limited information in the question, here is a limited response...

If the information you are presenting is your own and the electronic information is "basic" as opposed to perhaps proprietary you certainly have the right to try and make a few bucks based on your knowledge.

As far as can you use the DVD that says "Staples." Yes, you can. Staples is selling a product which they know people are going to use. They branded it for their own marketing purposes. So long as you are not attempting to suggest that the video you produced is somehow made, sponsored, or endorsed by Staples, you can use their "raw materials" in your production.

As a Franchise Attorney I agree with the other attorney answer. Unless the information on electronics is proprietary and belongs to someone else - copyrighted, etc. - there should be no problems. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
