Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Employee Deductions

At my employer I signed off medical and dental program. Employer began deducting $16 a week for Wellness Fund - which covers extra disability, well baby and other things. I stated I did not want or need this - reply was I had to have it - is this legal since I signed off their Medical and Dental Plan

Mandatory Wellness Fund for employees?

As a benefit that you are paying for, your employee should be able to give you some documentation on what that benefit provides to you. I have not heard of a "Wellness Fund", at least by that name. If you have additional documentation, perhaps from your employment handbook, then an attorney could give you an opinion. Can your manager help you with this issue? Your manager might appreciate being able to resolve this issue without an attorney getting involved. If your manager refuses to help, and you get no satisfaction from the Human Resources department, then select an attorney, gather the documentation, and visit with the attorney for advice.
