Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Mandatory Meetings

Can you be terminated for not being able to attend a ''mandatory meeting'', When I was hired I told them I would never be available to work on Saturday, when the meeting was posted for a Saturday morning, I told my supervisor I could not attend and was told ''mandatory'' meant you had to go. I only work on weeknights, if it was held on a weeknight I would be glad to go.

Re: Mandatory Meetings

If you're an at will employee, you can be terminated at any time, for any reason, or no reason at all. Your posting says that you would never be available to work on Saturday. Why is that? If it is for religious reasons, you might have protection.
