can you get a 14 day notice to quit

for non payment of rent , when

you sent out rent on the second

of the month and lanlord has not received it yet

If your landlord has not received your rent check, then it would be appropriate for him or her to send you a notice to quit.

In order to defeat an eviction for non-payment of rent, you should immediately cancel your previous check and write a new check. Send it to your landlord by certified mail, return receipt requested.
