Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

Got a speeding ticket in Massachusetts for traveling 90 in 55 on posted highway. Ticket says 90/17 which is driving faster than is reaonable. This occured on the expressway in Quincy and the sign is 55mph. Souldn't the ticket have said 90/18 which is driving faster than the posted speed limit? I plan to appeal this with the clerk magistrate on Friday and plan to bring pictures and a copy of the law. Am I correct or wasting my time?

I doubt if you will win it on that point but if the clerk finds you responsible, pay $50 to appeal it to the judge. The cop who wrote the ticket is required to attend the hearing with the the judge and you automatically win if he doesn't show, which happens in probably half of the cases because the police dept has to pay the cop extra to appear in court.
