Legal Question in Family Law in Mexico

My husband's sister lives in Tuxtla, Vera Cruz. She is an abuse victim of her husband. They have three children together. The husband lives in a house with his parents, the children, and the abuse victim. The children are said to have endured no abuse other than watching the violence that takes place often. (about 3 times a week) Recently, in a public place, Ana (the abuse victim) was beaten by her husband Erick Dominguez-Garcia. She was reportedly beaten and kicked repeatedly and hasn't had the strength to walk or stand for more than 5 minutes. They have a lawyer whom is unreachable and not seeming to check on the case. The husband has repeatedly tried to kick Ana out of the family home and keep the children for himself. She has no family near her other than an elderly aunt (50). She is currently on her way to a Vera Cruz hospital with her children and aunt. She is hopeful that I, as a translator and bilingual citizen of the United States, could gain access to legal information on the laws of Mexico as she can't seem to find a lawyer with enough experience near her. I havn't gone to the paid legal question sites because I will only invest in this if it will help Ana and her children directly.
