Competion cluase

i signed a competion contract with my employer, i have found its not exacly the place someone likes to work and i would like to leave but this is where i live and i have a family, but if i leave i cant work for a year and i just need some advice on what i can do about the contract

Most contracts are at-will, however, I cannot say for sure unless I review it. Have an attorney review the contract and he can advise you of your rights and duties under the agreement.
