Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

I will be having a bench trial in a credit card collection case. I am the defendant. I have requested from the plaintiff evidence to be used against me such as: proof of the debt, proof the collector has purchased right to collect the debt, other evidence to be used.

Do they have to give this to me? Is a request by mail enough?
