If you are talking about the charge "driving while impaired" yes, it is a misdemeanor in Michigan. You should obtain legal counsel to assist you with this charge though, as it can be reduced to a non-misdemeanor, or another misdemeanor, which would have less impact on your driving and criminal record, and possibly less fines, especially if this is your first offense.
