Legal Question in DUI Law in Michigan

violation of probation with M.I.P.

My daughter was arrested for an O.U.I. 7 months ago. She is 18. She has a restricted license until the end of June. She recently was drinking in a park and received a ticket for M.I.P. What are her possible fines and how does this effect her record, driving or otherwisw?

She's looking at jail time for the VOP and alcohol treatment depending on the judge and her P.O. This would be the major concern since the punishment for MIP is only a $100 fine and more probation.

It is a violation of her probation and she has the potential to go to jail on the OUI. Fines and consequences are ultimately determined by judges.

Get her in AA now. It will reflect well on her to recognize she has an alcohol problem.

receiving a new alcohol charge while on probation is never good. I would advise her to seek a good attorney, get in some sort of treatment or AA. For representation in SE Michigan, visit my website at www.kliszlaw.com for some free phone advice. Tim Klisz
