Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

I cosigned for 19 year old son's apartment. He flunked out of college and does not have the income to pay monthly rent. What rights do I have to sublease apartment?

It depends on the terms contained in your Lease Agreement. There is no "default" law if you don't have a written lease or it doesn't address subleasing. Look at your Agreement to determine if you are permitted to sublease or not, and the rules for subleasing.

You have the rights that are listed in your son's contract. Read it and determine the rules regarding subleasing. http://www.wolverinelaw.com
