Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Michigan

in home wine tastings for compensation
I am an independent consultant for a wine tasting company. We do in home wine tastings, it has been brought to the attention of the company that in the state of Michigan it is against the liquor control board regultions to do tastings in a persons home for the chance to receive orders and compensation.

I wanted to know if this is correct,
if there was a special or specific license we could obtain to continue - vendor representation, etc
what type of wine tastings are legal in the state of Michigan
is there a basic way to continue with this home party plan without being in violation of the law

Some wine distributors use a restaurant with a license to do the tastings. This is also good for business. Bill Stern
