Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Real estate sublet and abandonment

Recently in the 9th month of a 1 year lease my tenant sublet my rental house to ''friends'' of his. Subleasing is expressly forbidden in the lease, I was not aware of it until neighbors of the house told me that new people moved in. He vacated the house but left a car, snowmobile and a bunch of trash in the garage. I have called twice in the last week; leaving messages to remove his personal property. I have a phone number which is never answered and no address.

What requirements do I have in regard to evicting the people that are there now and getting rid of the original tenants belongings?

Re: Real estate sublet and abandonment

Evict the trespassers through the same process you would normally, with 30 days notice. You need a judge's order and an officer of the court to remove the tenant and tenants property

from the rental property via an Order for Eviction.
