Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Michigan

Sale Price on Quit Claim Deed

My sister and I co-own a house. She is going to quit claim her 1/2 to me for a certain amount of money. Since I am the one pushing for this transfer, I will pay her a premium for her 1/2. Is there any way to avoid including the sale price on the quit claim deed. I do not want my property taxes to be unfairly inflated based on the inflated sale price.

Re: Sale Price on Quit Claim Deed

You can list nominal consideration $1 on the deed you don't have to put the price you paid if you don't want to.
