Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Michigan

My Lasik doctor used my cell number for personal use.

I recently got Lasik eye surgery. At my first appointment, before the surgery, my older and married doctor started to get flirty with his words and giggly. I just played along trying to be nice since he was my doctor and all. After the appointment, I started getting text messages from an unknown number. Later to find out it was him, saying inappropriate things such as ''Wow, you looked great today. You have great legs!'', ''Did you dress up just for me?'', ''We can compare tan lines'', etc. Totaling almost 40 text messages in less than 5 hours! He also called me 3 times until finally I answered and asked what he wanted. My doctor proceeded to tell me that he really wanted to see me. I ignored his next few calls, text messages and voicemails. On my next appt., I told the office director about him and that he got my number from my chart. Shocked, she reported it to HR. HR called me and pretty much said opps sorry. Almost 2 months have passed and I haven't heard anything else. I feel like I was wronged and nothing was done to correct the situation. What should I do from here? Im thinking about suing but know that it will be a long process. Is this a legitimate Hipaa Law and sexual harassment case?

No it is not. If you worked there it would be a good case, but you are not his employee. He stopped, and you are back to square one. I don't believe there is any civil case worth pursuing. Again, only one person's opinion. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
