Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan

Can I have points removed since acquiring a commercial drivers license? And how
I have 6 pts. that are over a year old from when I still had a private drivers license. Since then I have obtained my Commercial drivers license. Problem is no one will consider me for employment with 6 pts. I have been told that there is a way to have them removed since I have a record of numerous turn-downs on account of points only. I have a family to feed and cannot afford an attorney, and I have not been able to find the correct procedure or any kind of legal aid service that deals with this type of issue. These points are 15 months old, but are still affecting my new license, though I have a perfect driving record since obtaining my CDL. And for eight months prior to that on a chauffeur's license. Can someone please help me? Can I do this on my own? My family and my career depends on this.
