Legal Question in Traffic Law in Michigan

No Radar/Laser signal

I was pulled over on i-96west near novi, MI and an officer charged me with going 96/70, changing lanes with out signaling, changing multiple lanes, and a warning for careless driving. I have a Radar/Laser detector and it registered no signal. I asked the police officer to show me the reading and he refused- suspiciously. Ticket said he measured me with laser. He also scolded me for having a 2 lb. sleeping dog on my lap. my questions are: Does an officer have to show you the reading on their radar/laser? Can an officer measure your speed by just following you? Is having a dog sleeping on your lap illegal? If I am doing so with caution, is it illegal to change more than one lane at a time? Is the fact that the officer was rude, seemed to be out to get me, and tried to cite me for every possible violation, relevent legally?

You don't deny that you were 26 mph over the speed limit; changing multiple lanes without signaling; and driving carelessly while having a dog in your lap. I'm assuming you were sober when you performed these moronic acts. Lucky you!

The officer's actions were entirely within the law. Your's, however were not. Be thankful that he didn't impound your car and jail you for reckless driving.
