Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Michigan

My parents divorced back in my teen years. My father refused to be a part of my life after the divorce. He married again and has two children. Being that my father is quite wealthy and now elderly, how can I assure that I am not left out of any inheritance when he passes? And if he leaves me out of his will completely, can I fight it?

Your father has a right to leave his estate to anyone he desires and Michigan law is very clear that a parent can disinherit any or all children. Hope this helps answer your question. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
