Legal Question in Consumer Law in Minnesota

sweepstakes/instant win game

I entered a sweepstake/ instant win game an won first prize. According to the official rules, I was supposed to receive my prize 8 to 10 weeks after my win was approved. I won Oct 2006 and was approved Nov 2006.

They are having to substitute my prize and are now after 6 months working that out. Since they are in breech of the official rules am I entitled to any compensation along with my prize?

It's very unlikely, and besides the fact that you appear to have no damages, almost all contests have winners sign paperwork that would release almost any claims. You're not even very far past the ten weeks.

What kind of economic damages do you have?

How has their breach affected you?

I would need to review the rules to advise.
