disability protection

i became medically disabled november 2004 for medical reasons. of course i have some outstanding debts and collectors are after me now. my one income is social security disability. i do however have a small 401 account i am trying to keep for emergency and own my house but of course i still have a mortgage against it.. do i have any protection from these collectors and what should i do. can they garnish their money anyway from my checks or sue me? please advise asap....thnak you

Need more info. Please e=mail or call re: amount and nature of debts.

You may have exemptions from collection even if creditors obtain judgments, but sounds like that is some time away.
