Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

full custody

I had a one night fling with a woman that is quickly producing a child. She has two convicted DWI and one Disorderly conduct. Would I be able to get full custody of the child? Can said child then be put up for adoption without the mothers consent.

Re: full custody

The court makes decisions related to custody based on what is in the child's best interests. Such decisions are based on the totality of all circumstances. A disorderly conduct and/or DWI before the child was born is unlikely to have much of an impact on custody proceedings. Instead, whether the parent abuses alcohol after the child is born and whether that interferes with his/her parenting is the critical issue.

The mother would have to consent to any adoption.
